Bestival, Dorset - 2nd-5th August
This award-winning boutique festival in Dorset features acts such as MIA, London Grammar, Mura Masa and Thundercat. Despite Camp Bestival being rained off this weekend, next weekend looks like a return to sunshine, so make the most of the summer vibes with a flexible lightweight wardrobe.
Haven, Copenhagen – 10th-12th August
Copenhagen’s newest experimental festival is a creative collaboration between culinary entrepreneur Claus Meyer, beer brewer Mikkel Borg-Bjergsø and The National’s guitarist brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner. You’ll be standing on hard concrete all day and walking between music stage to craft beer tent (and possibly to and from the venue as taxis to this district can be hard to come by!) so get a sturdy shoe and consider some easy layering to cover all eventualities with the weather.
All Together Now, Co. Waterford, Ireland – 3rd-5th August
Put together by the people behind Electric Picnic, All Together Now seeks to bring the Irish festival scene back to its cooler, less mainstream roots with this 3 day celebration of international contemporary, pop, indie and dance music. Featuring the Villagers, Fleet Foxes and one Miss Chaka Kahn, this will be Ireland’s biggest and coolest outdoor party.
You’ll need some lightweight outerwear in case the Irish summer reverts to form and some comfortable trainers for shaking your thing to Roisin Murphy.
