Dublin in 2017 is a city of contradictions and stark juxtapositions, as the glittering steel and glass of the financial district rises from the grit and rubble of the former industrial harbour and high end hotels glower over graffiti strewn alleyways and character-filled cobbled streets. The city serves as the perfect backdrop for our new campaign, Parallels - which also showcases the versatility available in our latest collection.

We were inspired by the two very different versions of city life which it is possible to see in Dublin. There is a sense of a very upscale, “uptown” city and running parallel to that, a very authentic, casual ‘downtown.’ The balance of these give Dublin its unique sense of itself. In our campaign, we wanted to play with the idea of dressing the modern man for these two sides of life in the city but in an interesting and unique way.

 

The saying goes “Clothes maketh the man” and in this short film the protagonist, played by actor James Farrar, wakes in the morning and dresses as the man he chooses to be that day. We then follow two very different versions of our protagonist, as these two diverging timelines unfold over the course of a day.

With locations such as the IFSC, Fade Street Social and Merrion Square, the film showcases the grit and the glamour of this modern European capital and of course, the sartorial elegance and relaxed off duty sense of casual style in Remus Uomo’s latest collection.
